A history of Verriers Engineering 1946 — 2010

Verriers Engineering Services was founded in 1946 by John Verrier, who was a fitter, turner and welder. Its first home was on the corner of Wellington and Pier Streets in Perth. John’s brothers Bert and Lionel Verrier a fitter and turner joined the company in 1952. They became partners with John who trained Bert as a welder. He became a welding specialist and John became renowned for his engineering expertise. So began afamily tradition of passing on knowledge and techniques. The business later moved to Edward St, East Perth and John’s son Craig Verrier a fitter, turner joined the company in 1972. He too became a partner in 1979. In 1982 the business moved to Alice St, Bayswater, where John soon retired. He was followed by Lionel in 1985 and Bert in 1987. Verriers Engineering continues to be a family owned and run business since Craig and Cathy Verrier bought out the other partners in 1985. They have rebuilt, expanded the business and moved it to its present location in Fairford St, Bassendean. Together with daughters Mandy and Leanne and their respective husbands Paul and Jon, the business continues to grow whilst continuing the same friendly personalised service Verriers is known for. In 2006, Verriers Engineering Services celebrated its Diamond Anniversary of sixty years in business, with the launch of a new logo and bright prospects of continuing long into the future.
